Volleyball Falls To TLU

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team fell in straight sets 3-0 to Texas Lutheran University Tuesday night in American Southwest Conference action.

Though all three sets were close battles, the Lady Jackets fell 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20). 

Tamika Heline led with 11 kills followed by Amanda Gutierrez with eight. Amy Cardwell had 16 assists and Kristin Hammond had 16 digs.

Texas Lutheran was led by Jessica Stetler and Sarah Black with 11 and 16 kills respectively.

Howard Payne is now 5-9 overall and 3-3 in ASC play. Texas Lutheran sits at 8-2 overall and 5-0 in ASC action.

Howard Payne travels this next weekend to the ASC Crossover Tournament in Tyler and will take on the University of Texas at Tyler in the opening game.
