Volleyball Falls In Four To Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team lost in four sets 1-3 to Schreiner University in American Southwest Conference action Wednesday night.

After taking set one 25-22, Howard Payne played tough but was not able to close out another set dropping the next three, 22-25, 23-25, and 24-26. 

Megan Pick led the Lady Jackets with 11 kills and three total blocks. Tamika Heline had nine kills and Sydney Bryant and Amanda Gutierrez followed with eight kills each. Setters Amy Cardwell and Amber Cantu-Curry had 18 and 19 assists respectively. 

Caitlyn Gayle led Schreiner with 13 kills while Audra Burnap and Lauren Tharp had 19 and 22 assists respectively.

The Lady Jackets fall to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in ASC play. Schreiner improves to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in ASC action.

Howard Payne will travel this next weekend to Lubbock to play in the Lubbock Christian University Tournament.
