Jackets Fall 3-1 To UMHB

BELTON, Texas -  The Howard Payne men's soccer team was defeated by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-1 in conference action Saturday night. 
 
UMHB started the contest scoring 20 seconds into the game. Jacob Moore evened the game for Howard Payne in the 23rd minute with an assist from Alex Sanchez. UMHB would add goals in the 60th and 63rd minutes. Neither team was able to score again, giving UMHB the 3-1 win.

Tracer Moorer had five total shots for HPU, two on goal. Daniel Torres followed with two shots, one on goal. UMHB recorded 19 shots in the contest and limited the Yellow Jackets to 14. Howard Payne had two corner kicks while UMHB took nine. Brice Gardner took the loss for Howard Payne, making seven saves and allowing three goals.

The Yellow Jackets fell to 1-7-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference action. UMHB is now 5-5-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in ASC play. Howard Payne  will play next on Friday, Oct. 17th at home versus the University of Texas at Tyler starting at 3:00 pm.
