BROWNWOOD, Texas- Howard Payne volleyball lost to Hardin-Simmons 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22) in conference action Friday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.

The Lady Jackets started off slow in the first set and HSU gained the lead and the set 25-16. In the second set Howard Payne started more aggressive and pulled away with the lead after HSU tied up the game at 15-15, HPU rallied and took the set 25-18.
HPU started the third set strong and had the momentum until 22-22 when HSU would take the set 25-22. In the final set, HPU again would take the lead early until HSU gained a 24-18 advatage. The Lady Jackets would rally to within two, 24-22 but HSU scored to win the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.

Breanne Cathey would lead the Lady Jackets with 11 kills on 29 attempts.
Allison Eaton would tie her season best with 30 assists. Shelby Bridge would have another double digit digs with 22.

HSU's Hannah Hornsby led with 13 kills on 32 attempts and Corrie Reeder would have 10 kills on 25 attempts. Morgan Watts had 24 assists.
Howard Payne is now 1-22 overall and 0-15 in ASC action. HSU is now 8-13 overall and 7-8 in ASC play. HPU will play next on October the 28th in Kerrville, Texas at 6:00 pm against Scheiner University.
