ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team falls 1-0 on a penalty kick goal by Hardin-Simmons just minutes into the game Saturday afternoon in conference action.

After Hardin-Simmons' Matt Pitcock netted a penalty kick just 2:44 into the game, the Jackets would not be able to muster the offense to tie the game. Howard Payne would be outshot 14-6 overall and 7-1 in shots on goal.

Shay Pate and Alex Sanchez would have two shots each for the Jackets with Jacob Moore taking the only shot on goal.

HPU keeper Brice Gardner got the loss in goal recording five saves in 90 minutes of work.

Howard Payne is now 1-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Hardin-Simmons is 2-1-2 overall and 1-0 in ASC play. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Saturday, October 10th at Concordia University Texas in Austin starting at 7:00 pm.
