Lady Jackets Finish Day One Of AC Tourney

SHERMAN, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team starts the 2014 season with 3-0 loses to Texas Lutheran and Hendrix on day one of the Austin College Tournament.

The Lady Jackets started the day with a 3-0,(25-12,25-12,25-10) loss to Texas Lutheran University.,Breanne Cathey led HPU with eight kills on 18 attempts and no errors. Briana had 15 digs.

In game two for Howard Payne, the Lady Jackets fell 3-0,,(25-11,25-22,25-10) to Hendrix College. HPU started showing signs of improvement dropping the second set 25-22. Williams led HPU with six kills followed by Cathey with five. Allison Eaton had 10 assists and Shelby added a team high 13 digs.

The Lady Jackets are 0-2 to start the season and will play tournament host Austin College and St. Thomas on Saturday.
