BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's basketball team fell 55-45 to the University of Texas at Dallas in conference action Thursday evening.

The Lady Jackets were outscored 30-18 in the paint on the day and outrebounded 44-35.

Shooting 46% from the field in the first half, UT-Dallas used a 14-0 run midway through to open up a 24-11 lead. The Comets would go on to hold a 27-18 halftime advantage.

Howard Payne shot just 26% from the field in the first half and was outrebounded 22-15.

Neither team shot the ball well in the second half both shooting around 34% from the field. It was the Comets inside attack was the difference with the Lady Jackets losing 55-45.

Danyel Bradley led HPU with 13 points and three steals. No other Lady Jacket was in double digits. Kalin Hanna finished with a team high 12 rebounds.

UTD was led by Madi Hess with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Nicolette Erkman added 14 points and Amber Brown followed with 10.

Howard Payne is now 9-8 overall and 6-6 in American Southwest Conference action. UT-Dallas stands at 15-3 overall and 11-2 in conference. Howard Payne will be in Abilene this Saturday taking on Hardin-Simmons at 1:00 pm.
