ALPINE, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets fell in 5 sets (25-18, 28-30, 25-16, 24-26, 12-15) to Sul Ross State University on Tuesday evening falling to 1-15 on the season.

The numbers all fell in Howard Payne's favor but the Lady Jackets had trouble staying consistent between sets. Howard Payne finished with 162 digs, 11 aces, 52 kills and racked up 64 points, all which are new season highs for the Lady Jackets.

Micah Cisneroz, Shelbie Harry and Alyssa Beasley all set a new season high in kills. Cisneroz finished with 25 kills, Harry picked up 16 and Beasley added 10 kills on the night. Katie Schulte finished with 19 assists. Cheyanne Lovelady had 18, both tying their season high mark. Defensively, Howard Payne's 162 digs are more than double of the previous season high of 75. Cisneroz finished with 45. Analisa Anzaldua picked up 38 digs and Callie Molloy finished with 31.

SRSU as a team had 22 blocks to Howard Payne's 1. Alexis Shelton led in blocks with 9, Breeann Sturges had 6. SRSU was led in assists by Elizabeth Livingston who had 19 on the night. Candice Hugi finished with 9 kills. McKenna Thomas had 26 digs on the night.

The Lady Jackets fall to 1-15 overall and 1-7 in conference play. SRSU is 6-12 on the year with a conference record of 2-5. The Lady Jackets will be back in action on Friday, October 16 as they take on Letourneau University in the 2nd American Southwest Conference Crossover Challenge in Tyler at 5:00
