BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jacket volleyball team fell to Concordia University Texas in 3 sets (18-25, 22-25, 24-26) on Friday evening.
Howard Payne gave a valiant effort and rallied back in the first two sets but allowed Concordia to gain too big of a lead early on in both sets. In the third set the Lady Jackets held a 14-7 lead before allowing Concordia to gain momentum and eventually take the third and final set.
Shelbie Harry picked up right where she left off against Sul Ross on Tuesday evening, leading the team in kills picking up 11 and tying her season high set last match.
Micah Cisneroz tacked 8 on the match.
Cheyanne Lovelady held the hot hand once again with 16 assists and picking up 8 digs.
Callie Molloy led the team with 9 digs.
Analisa Anzaldua had 3 services aces during the match, a new season high for her.
Concordia was led in kills by Jordan Redmond who had 13. Carly Custer had 11 on the match. K'Lyn Brigance led the team in assists with 20 and Nacole Miller added 17 combining for 37 of the teams 52 total digs. Lexi Perez led in digs with 15.
Howard Payne is now 1-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Concordia sits at 6-5 on the season and 3-2 in conference. The Lady Jackets will be back on the court tomorrow, October 3rd, afternoon at 2 p.m. where they will host the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
