BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne volleyball team dropped their match in three sets (19-25. 13-25, 19-25) against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Jackets struggled on defense picking up only 1 block to UMHB's 8 total.
Micah Cisneroz was the team leader in kills with 10.
Shelbie Harry followed with 9.
Analisa Anzaldua continued her to be a factor for the Lady Jackets matching her season high in digs with 13 and also adding a new season high in service aces with 4.
Cheyanne Lovelady had 11 assists on the match.
Katie Schulte had 10 respectively.
UMHB's defensive game was strong picking up 55 total team digs to Howard Payne's 40. Shelby Russell and Jordan Yates led the team with 12 digs each. Natasha Evans had 11 on the match and led the team with 10 kills. Shelby Prather finished with 32 assists.
The Lady Jackets are now 1-12 on the season and 1-4 in conference play. UMHB is 9-7 overall with a conference record of 5-2. Howard Payne will be back in action on Tuesday, October 6th, as they play host to McMurry University at 7:00 p.m. at the Brownwood Coliseum.
