SEGUIN, Texas -- Howard Payne University women's basketball team lost a 13-point second half lead but outscored Texas Lutheran University by 10 in overtime to record a 72-62 road win Tuesday night.

The Lady Jackets led 33-19 at the half. HPU held TLU to just 22% shooting in the first half hitting just seven of the Bulldogs first 31 shots. 

After HPU scored the first four points for the third quarter, TLU put together an 11-2 run to pull with six, 40-34 going into the fourth. Howard Payne push its lead back to 13, 50-37 with 5:56 remaining in the fourth on a layup by Presley McKethan.

TLU made another run and forced overtime with a three-point play (a layup and a free throw) with eight seconds remaining in regulation.

Howard Payne All-American Danyel Bradley, limited in minutes after playing 36 minutes and scoring 27 in a road loss Monday at Incarnate Word, played late in regulation and in overtime. She hit a go-ahead three-pointer in the OT, putting the Jackets ahead 63-60 with 3:42 to play.

Bradley added a layup with 52 seconds to play in the overtime to put HPU ahead by eight. She finished the game with 12 points in 13 minutes of action. She added four rebounds.

Howard Payne was led by Sarahi Castillo with 15 points and nine rebounds. Yessenia Cazares added 10 points and Micah Cisneroz grabbed a team high 10 rebounds.

Adelaide Wenzel led TLU with 16 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Dydalewicz posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kristen Lye scored 13, grabbed six rebounds and had four blocks.

HPU shot just 29.3 percent from the floor but made 19 of 21 free throw attempts. TLU missed 10 free throws (15-for-25), went 1-for-12 from the three-point line and ended the game at 30.3 percent shooting. 

Howard Payne improves to 2-3 overall with the non-conference win. TLU falls to 1-2 with the loss. The Lady Jackets will play next in their conference opener on December 3rd at the University of Texas at Tyler.
