PINEVILLE, Texas - The Howard Payne baseball team finished their conference series at Louisiana College with a 5-1 loss Sunday afternoon.
Brandon Garrett finished 4-for-5 from the plate for Howard Payne with three singles and a double.
Matthew Daniel was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Matthew Parks got the loss for HPU in the start going 2.0 innings and striking out three.
Shawn Brody and
Zach Moseley both threw three innings of relief and recorded three Ks.

Joshua Martinez from third in the ninth to give the Jackets their only run of the game.
LC scored two in the first and one in the second to gain a 3-0 advantage. They would take a 5-0 lead after scoring single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Howard Payne is now 6-6 overall and 3-5 in American Southwest Conference action. LC stands at 6-7 overall and 4-5 in league play. The Jackets will have a nonconference double header on Tuesday at home versus the University of Dallas starting at 1:00 pm.
