BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne baseball team committed six errors and was held to just five hit in a 15-0 conference loss to #8 Concordia University Texas Friday afternoon at Don Shepard Park.
Concordia held a 6-0 advantage after seven innings but it was the eight-run eighth that put the game out of reach for the Jackets. Six Howard Payne fielding errors in the game did not held the Jackets' cause.
Shae Edmonds went 6.1 innings in the start for the loss allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out two. Garret Virgin,
Tyler Colburn and
Chad Anders would also see time in relief.,
Going 2-for-4 on the day,
Jake Sadler had two of the Jackets five hits at the plate.
Howard Payne is now 12-17 overall and 7-14 in ASC West Division play. Concordia stands at
22-6 overall and 16-2 in league action. The two teams will finish out their conference series with a double header on Saturday starting at 1:00 pm.
