ABILENE, Texas- The Howard Payne volleyball team fell in five sets 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 27-25, 10-25, 7-15) to McMurry University Tuesday afternoon.
Howard Payne dropped the first set 18-25 before going on to take the second and third set 25-23,27-25. McMurry would follow up by taking the fourth and fifth sets in closing out the match 10-25, 7-15.
Micah Cisneroz led the team with 14 kills.
Madison Pendill recorded 9 respectively.
Taylor Reid had a season high 17 digs.
Analisa Anzaldua matched her season high with 12 digs.
Katie Schulte and
Cheyanne Lovelady each had 14 assists giving Lovelady a new season high.
McMurry was led in kills by Catherine Heath who had 19. Morgan Thomas led in assists with 22. Howard Payne only recorded 5 service aces compared to McMurry's 10.
Howard Payne is now 0-6 on the season. McMurray is now 5-2 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next on September 18th in Abilene vs. Hardin Simmons at 7:00 pm.
