STEPHENVILLE, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team fell in its season opener at D-II Tarleton State 0-3 (8-25,8-25,13-25) Tuesday evening at Wisdom Gym.

The Lady Jackets would fight hard on the night but would not be able to get much going offensively in the match.

After dropping the first set 8-25, Howard Payne would gain a slight lead to start the second but would also go onto drop the set 8-25.

The Lady Jackets had the third set tied up at 12-12 before Tarleton went on a run to secure the set 13-25 and the match 3-0.

Micah Cisneroz and Shelbie Harry each had three kills for Howard Payne. Callie Molloy finished with a team high seven digs.

Howard Payne will play next this weekend at the Austin College Tournament in Sherman, Texas. They will play the University of Dallas and St Gregory's on Friday at 2pm and 4pm and Southwestern and host Austin College on Saturday at 2pm and 4pm
