ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team fell 9-0 to non-conference opponent Austin College Saturday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.

Howard Payne narrowly dropped all three double matches to start the day. Alex Marlin and Erin McClear fell 9-7 in number one doubles, Brittony Walker and Breanna Hunt lost 9-8 (7-4) in number two doubles and in number three doubles, Devin Mendelson and Callie Molloy lost 8-5.

The Lady Jackets would lose all six singles matches. Alex Marlin's number one singles match was the most competitive falling 6-4, 6-2.

Howard Payne is now 1-1 overall and Austin College stands at 1-1 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next on Feb. 12-13 at the Schreiner University Tournament in Kerrville, Texas.
