AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team got a match high 31 assists from
Cheyanne Lovelady in a 3-0 loss to the University of Texas at Dallas on day one of the American Southwest Conference crossover hosted by Concordia University Texas.
Cheyanne Lovelady had 31 digs and nine assists in the 3-0 (19-25,15-25,19-25) loss to UT-Dallas. Howard Payne's Shelby Harry and
Kailey Doering led all attackers with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Harry finished the match with a team high .265 attack pct.
The Lady Jackets dropped the first set 25-19 while hitting their best on the day, a .200 attack pct. Howard Payne would drop the second and third sets 25-15 and 25-19.
Analisa Anzaldua had a team high 19 digs for the Lady Jackets followed by
Briana Williams with 10 digs.
Howard Payne is 3-7 overall and 1-2 in American Southwest Conference play. UT-Dallas stands at 10-1 overall and 3-0 in league action. The Lady Jackets will take on Belhaven at 12:30 pm on Saturday before returning for a home match in Brownwood on Tuesday versus McMurry University.
