SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team took on non-conference opponent St. Mary's University Tuesday evening falling 3-0.
Howard Payne fell in three games, 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 struggling to get a rhythm offensively in the match.
St Mary's jumped out to early leads in the first two games but the Lady Jackets would keep it close in the third. Down just 17-16 in the third, St Mary's closed out the set with a 8-0 to claim the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
Zhartezia Bradley led HPU with 8 kills and two service aces.Â
Kailey Doering followed with 7 kills.Â
Cheyanne Lovelady finished with 20 assists andÂ
Jordan Livingston had 9 digs.
Howard Payne is now 8-18 overall and St. Mary's is 14-9 on the year. The Lady Jackets will travel to Colorado Springs, CO to play in the Spike it Up Classic hosted by Colorado College.Â
