BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match 6-3 to Schreiner University Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.
It would be the three doubles loses that was the difference in the day for Howard Payne. After leading two of the doubles matches early on, the Lady Jackets went on to lose 8-3 in the number one spot, 8-6 in number two and 8-0 in the number three doubles match.
HPU picked up three points in the top half of the ladder in singles play.Â
Alex Marlin defeated Alexandra Wheeler of Schreiner 6-3, 6-4 in number one singles. HPU'sÂ
Brittony Walker defeated Lauren Stanley 6-3, 6-3 in number two singles and in number four singlesÂ
Chesney Goza was victorious over Camila Anguiano 6-4, 6-1.

Howard Payne is now 3-10 overall on the year and Schreiner stands at 6-8. The Lady Jackets will play next on March 31st in Abilene versus conference opponent Hardin-Simmons at 2:00 pm.
