TYLER, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team finished up its fall season competing at the ITA Regional Individual/Doubles Championships this weekend.
Erin McCleer shined in "B" Draw action advancing to the semi-finals of the main draw. After a first round bye, McCleer defeated Kathryn Hall of LeTourneau 7-6, 4-6, 10-3. She would fall in the semis 6-2, 6-1 to Justus Aarhus of Concordia.

Erin Blanchard and
Rosie Cadena also had strong showings in "C" Draw for HPU. Hunt defeated Karen Morris of Hendrix 6-7, 6-0, 10-4 in the second round after a first round bye. Hunt then would defeat Summer Willig of Austin College by default before losing to Alexis Popovich of Concordia in the quarter finals.
Blanchard defeated Kiara Jones of McMurry 6-1, 6-1 and then Kaliegh Jantzen of UT Tyler 6-4, 6-0 before losing narrowly in the quarter finals 3-6, 7-6(2), 10-2.
Cadena picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Kelly Lillie of Texas Lutheran before losing in three sets to Grace Igarta of UMHB 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.
None of the Howard Payne doubles teams would make it out of the opening rounds of the draws.
