Brownwood, Texas- The Howard Payne Lady Jacket Volleyball team lost a heart breaker against Sul Ross State University on Oct. 2nd.
After a dropping a tough first set 25-22, HPU dominated set two 25-9. The next set was dominated by Sul Ross, but HPU answered by winning set four. After going up 10-4 in set five, Sul Ross hit a hot streak and scored 11 of the next 14 points to take the set 15-13 and the match 3-2.
Zhartaezia Bradley and Kailey Doering both had 11 kills to lead the Lady Jackets. Bradley added 7 blocks, McKenna Walker had 34 assists and Kylee Shirley posted 15 digs.
Sul Ross is now 4-9 overall and 3-5 in ASC play, Howard Payne has dropped to 2-14 on the season and 1-8 in conference play.
