HOUSTON, Texas – Howard Payne University's
Chelsey Harris scored a career high 30 points in a 93-60 loss to Division-I Houston Baptist University Tuesday evening.
Chelsey Harris was 9-for-16 from the field and 6-for-9 from behind hind the arc while hitting 6 of 10 free throws to post a game high 30 points.
Houston Baptist used 47.4% shooting from the field and rebounding to gain the advantage on Howard Payne. Houston Baptist outrebounded Howard Payne 58-31 in the game.
Howard Payne did hold the advantage in perimeter shooting connecting on 9 of 26 three-point attempts (34.6%) to 7 of 23 for Houston Baptist (30.4%).
HPU's
Anastasia Willis finished with 8 points and five rebounds.
Caprica Brooks led HPU with six rebounding along with five points.
Salina Ali dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds.
Houston Baptist was led by Amanda Johnson with 23 points followed by Sophie Taylor with 16 points. Taylor Kollmorgen grabbed 12 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 1-3 overall and Houston Baptist stands at 3-1 on the year. The Lady Jackets will be in action next on Nov. 24-25 at the Millsaps College tournament in Jackson, Miss.
