BEAUMONT, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 121-32 to D-I Lamar University Friday evening in a non-conference match-up.
Lamar would force 38 Howard Payne turnovers while shooting 57.1% from the field in the game. The Yellow Jackets struggle from the floor connecting on only 26.0% of their shots.
After leading 47-13 at the half, Lamar scored 74 points in the second half to claim the game 121-32.
Shadd Cole led HPU with 8 points followed by
Timothy Aguero and
Talen Davis with five points each.
Lamar was led by Nick Garth with 24 points followed by Josh Nzeakor and Laquarious Paige with 18 points each.
Howard Payne is now 2-11 overall and Lamar is now 6-6 on the year. The Jackets will play next on Saturday, Dec., 29th at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. It will be a 4:00 pm start time.
