BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team dropped game one of its double header with Concordia University Texas 3-1 in extra innings Friday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.
Game One
The Lady Jackets tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh on a
Bri Davis double to left center scoring
Alizabeth Moreno. Concordia scored two runs in the top of the eighth to round out the 3-1 final.
Tia Compos recorded the loss for HPU in relief throwing the final two frames.
Kendra Evans went seven innings allowing one run on seven hits in the no decision start.

Audrey Simpson each posted a hit for the Lady Jackets.
Game Two
Four fielding errors by the Lady Jackets led to a 10-2 game two outcome for Concordia. The Tornados also out hit the Lady Jackets 11-4 in the game.

Bri Davis. Then, an Audrey. Simpson single up the middle scored
Gabrielle Roque.
Tonya Thompson went the distance in the start for Howard Payne striking out five.
Gabrielle Roque led the Lady Jackets at the plate going 2-for-2.
Howard Payne is now 8-23-2 overall and 5-18 in American Southwest Conference action. Concordia is 19-13 overall and 15-8 in league play. The two teams will finish the weekend series on Saturday with a single game starting at 12:00 noon.
