IRVING, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell 5-1 to the University of Dallas this afternoon to open the 2019 regular season.
The Yellow Jackets fell behind in the seventh minute of the game, with the Crusaders able to score their first goal of the game off of a penalty goal kick. HPU ended the first half down by five.

Khaled Ameen was able to score the first goal of the season in the 56th minute of the game, leading to the 5-1 final score.

Andrew Hackney played all 90 minutes in goal for te Jackets recording five saves. The Yellow Jackets would be outshot 19-14 overall and 11-7 in shots on goal in the match.
Angel Rivas led the Jackets in total shots with four, one on goal.

This lost was the first of the season for the Yellow Jackets, now 0-1-0. The University of Dallas now stands 1-0-0 in the season. The Yellow Jackets will play on the road this Saturday with a 6:00 pm match against Willamette University in San Antonio, Texas hosted by Trinity University.
