Conway, Arkansas – The Lady Jackets came up on the losing end to begin their trip to Arkansas dropping 3 sets in a rematch with Texas Lutheran, and also coming up short in 3 sets against Hendrix College.
The Lady Jackets looked to get back at TLU after falling to them at their tournament back on August 30th. The Bulldogs bit the Lady Jackets before they could get a rally going taking the match in 3 set by the scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-12.
Shaylyn Wise led the Lady Jackets in kills with 3, Kaitlyn Elsten led in assists with 6 followed by Logan Boyd's 5. Kylee Shirley posted 10 digs in front of Mya Ross's 7.
In their second match of the day, the Lady Jackets took on a Hendrix Warriors team that has been in the national rankings consistently over the last few years since coming in 3rd in the NCAA Tournament. HPU fought hard but fell to the Warriors in 3 sets by the scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-14.
Mya Ross's 8 kills was a team high followed by Kaitlyn Elsten's 10 assists and Kylee Shirley's 8 digs. Elizabeth Benn added 7 digs of her own.
The Lady Jackets slide to 1-8 on the year and look to bounce back tomorrow as they take on ASC foe Lousisiana College. The first serve for that match will be at Noon.
