ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team competed this weekend at the 2019 American Southwest Conference singles/double tournament and HPU's Jessenia Ureste shined in "G" draw action.

After losing her first round singles match, HPU's Jessenia Ureste rallied claiming her next two matches, (6-4, 6-2 and 8-3) to win the "G" draw consolation final.

Zaylie Sanchez saw action in singles play for the Lady Jackets in "H" draw play dropping both of her matches.

Ureste and Sanchez would also compete together as double partners in "C" draw action.

The Lady Jackets will play next at the ITA West Regional on September 19th - 22 in Abilene, Texas.
