ABILENE, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's Soccer team fell 4-2 to the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys in non-conference action Thursday evening.
The Yellow Jackets fell behind early with Hardin-Simmons scoring within the first minute of the game.
After another goal by the Cowboys in the 24h minute, both team would exchange goals resulting in a 3-2 halftime score. HPU freshman
Jorge Perez scored in the 25th minute and
Alexander Paz in the 43rd, each their first collegiate goal.
HPU would be outshot 18-10 overall and 8-3 in shots on goal in the match. Paz led the Jackets in total shots with three shots and two shots on goals.
Matt Prall played the first half of the game in the goal for the Jackets recording two saves and allowing one goal and
Andrew Hackney came in at the half recording two saves and allowing three goals.
Howard Payne in now 0-6 overall, while Hardin-Simmons 7-0 in the year. The Yellow Jackets will play at home this weekend in a 4:00 PM match against Texas College at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.
