BROWNWOOD- Despite playing stellar defense, the Howard Payne University's men's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of Texas at Dallas earlier this afternoon at Citizen Nation Bank Field.
The UTD Comets were able to find the goal early in the first half scoring their only goal in the 15th minute. HPU goalkeeper
Andrew Hackney was able to defend off any other goals throughout the rest of the match, ending with four saves.
The Yellow Jackets would have opportunities to tie the match but fell behind in total shots 18-4, and 5-1 in shots on goals for the match.Â
Howard Payne is now 2-6 overall and 0-1 in American Southwestern Conference play, while the University of Texas at Dallas is now 7-2 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. The Jackets will play at home on Saturday Sep 28th in a 4:30 pm match against the University of the Ozarks played at Citizens National Bank Field.
