BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University's men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Schreiner University earlier this afternoon at Citizen Nation Bank Field.

The Mountaineers were able to find the goal early in the first half scoring their only goal in the sixth minute of the game. HPU goalkeeper Andrew Hackney was able to defend off any other goals throughout the rest of the match, ending with eight saves.

The Yellow Jackets fell behind in shots 16-15, with Zachary Moreno recording three shots on goal.

Howard Payne is now 0-4 overall in the season, while Schreiner University is now 1-2-1 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will hit the road in a week to take on Wayland Baptist on Tuesday, Sep 17th at 2:00 pm in Plainview.
