LONGVIEW, Texas - Howard Payne University's
Anastasia Willis recorded her second double-double of the season in a 73-52 loss at LeTourneau University Saturday afternoon.
HPU's
Anastasia Willis had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Lady Jackets. Willis was 5 of 10 from the field in the game.
With HPU holding a 13-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter, LeTourneau went on to outscore the Lady Jackets in each of the next three quarters to secure the 73-52 final.
Turnovers played a big factor in the game with HPU committing 17 and LeTourneau only with three on the night.
Following Willis' double-double of 12 and 10 was
Salina Ali with 10 points on 6 of 8 shooting at the free-throw line.Â
LeTourneau was led by Keauna Whitfield with 17 points followed by Micayla Mikulski with 14 points.
Howard Payne is now 6-10 overall and 2-5 in American Southwest Conference action. LeTourneau stands at 8-7 overall and 4-2 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on home on Thur., Jan. 23rd versus the University of the Ozarks at 5:30 pm.
