BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne University's
Jase Miguez scored a game high 27 points in a 80-72 loss to the University of the Ozarks Thursday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum.
Howard Payne battled back late from a 15 point deficit outscoring the Ozarks 15-5 in the closing minutes to cut the Eagle lead to six (78-72) with under a minute to play.
The Yellow Jackets played from behind most of the game with the Eagles outrebounding the Jackets 41-32 and leading in points in the paint 50-32.

Jase Miguez' 27 points was
Jacob Smith with nine points and a game high seven assists.
Tyrell Thompson grabbed a team high seven rebounds.
Ozarks was led by Jacobe Davis with 18 points and Cordy Winston with 15 points.
Howard Payne is now 1-16 overall and 0-8 in American Southwest Conference action. Ozarks stands at 6-10 overall and 2-5 in league play. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at home versus UT Dallas at 3:00 pm.
