2020-21: Starting in all 18 games for the Yellow Jackets, Tyrell was a First Team All-Conference selection. He was first on the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game and first on the team in rebounding, averaging 8.2 rebounds a game. He was fourth in the ASC in rebounding and recorded a double-double three times this season. He had a season-high 25 points at UT Dallas and a season-high 16 rebounds at McMurry.

2019-20: Appearing in 21 games and starting in 15 of them, he scored 211 points in 462 minutes on a 47% shooting clip.  He collected 141 caroms, handed out 26 assists, and posted 14 blocks and 15 steals on the season.  He scored a season-high 17 points at Texas Lutheran and registered 11 rebounds at Concordia (TX).  He finished second on the team in scoring average at 10 points per game and was first in rebounding at 6.7 per game.

2017-19 (Tabor College): Tyrell is a transfer from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas where he played his last two seasons. In 2018-19, he played in 26 games scoring 89 points, averaging 3.4 ppg and 2.5 rpg.

HS: A 2017 graduate of Columbia high school in West Columbia, Texas. While in high school, Tyrell was a two-time all-district and all-county selection.  Thompson played AAU for many top teams.

Personal: Tyrell is majoring in Sports Psychology. Johnson is the son of Steven Johnson and Valerie Kelly.
