ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball freshman
Amanda Turpin led the Lady Jacket team in a 99-45 loss to D-I Abilene Christian University Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Amanda Turpin scored a team high 11 points for the Lady Jackets sparked by 3-for-6 shooting from behind the arc.
The Lady Jackets shot 45.5 pct. from the field in the first quarter but would trail the Wildcats 25-15 at the end of the period.
With ACU leading 47-21 at the half, the Wildcats extended their lead in the third and held the Lady Jackets to nine points in the period. The Lady Jackets had a 15 point period in the fourth to round out the 99-45 final.
HPU finished the game shooting 34.8% (16 of 46) from the field and 41.2% (7 of 17) from the three-point line while ACU shot 58.8% (30 of 51) and 51.7% (15 pf 29) in the game.

Salina Ali dished out a team high three assists.
ACU was led by Madi Miller with 23 points followed by Alyssa Adams with 21 points.
It was the first official game for both teams on the season. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday, Nov. 28th at 2:00 pm in Stephenville, Texas versus Tarleton State University.
