ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team took on the University of the Ozarks and Hardin-Simmons University dropping both matches 9-0.

In the morning, the Lady Jackets played the University of the Ozarks in non conference action at McMurry University in Abilene.

The Lady Jackets fell 9-0 but Jessenia Ureste and Zaylie Sanchez played tough in number one doubles loses 8-5. Brittany Sutton also played solid in number two single falling in three sets 6-3, 7-6 (10-8), 10-7.

In the afternoon, the Lady Jackets traveled across town to play Hardin-Simmons dropping their conference opener with the Cowgirls 9-0.

Howard Payne is now 0-5 overall and 0-1 in ASC play. HPU will play next on Friday, March 28th at 4:00 pm at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
