BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team went 1-1 over the weekend on the road with a 9-0 loss at East Texas Baptist and an 8-1 win at Centenary College.

ETBU Match
On Friday, the Yellow Jackets took on  East Texas Baptist falling 9-0. 

Ben Blanchard and Jonathan Villareal lost 8-4 in number one doubles. The other close match was Micah Hunter in number two singles falling 7-6(10-3), 6-3.

Peyton Jost also plated tough in number six singles loses 6-4, 7-5.

Centenary Match
On Saturday at Centenary, the Jackets started the day strong taking all three doubles points 8-5, 8-3, 8-0.

With the Jackets only dropping the number two singles point, Hunter Green's win in number four singles was the only one to go three sets, Green winning 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.

The Yellow Jackets are now 3-5 on the year and will play next on March 7th at 1:00 pm in Seguin, Texas versus Texas Lutheran University.
