LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team dropped its final game with LeTourneau University 9-1 in five inning Saturday afternoon on the road.
Despite recording just four hits in the game, Howard Payne had opportunities to score stranding eight baserunners on the day.
Olivia Rivera got the Lady Jackets their only score on a solo homerun to left in the fourth. It was her first homerun as a Lady Jacket.
Along with Rivera,
Kiley Person,
Alexis Sullivan and
Ragen Noriega would also record hits in the game for HPU.
Tia Campos got te loss in the start for HPU allowing five runs on four hits, striking out two.
Hannah Morales and
Bree Cason also saw limited time in relief.
Howard Payne is now 3-8 overall and 0-6 in American Southwest Conference action. Letu stands at 9-3 overall and 5-1 in legue play. The Lady Jackets will play next on March, 6-7 at home versus the University of Texas at Dallas.
