BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team late game run comes up short against conference foe, East Texas Baptist University in 69-63 loss Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.

Bria Neal led the Lady Jackets with 18 points on 8-11 shooting and six rebounds.
HPU trailed ETBU 39-26 at the half. The Lady Jackets outscored the Tigers 17-16 in the third quarter and 20-14 in the fourth.
Trailing by as much as 18, the Lady Jackets got within four with 2:49 left in the game. The comeback was sparked by a 10-0 run by the Lady Jackets to start the fourth quarter.
HPU finished the game shooting 42.6% from the field (23-54) and 29.2% (7-24) from the three-point line. The Yellow Jacket defense held the Tigers to just 37.5% (24-64) from the field and 33.3% (9-27) from the three-point line.

Chelsey Harris with 15 points.
Kayla Brigance had a team high 10 rebounds.
Salina Ali led the team with three assists. Ali and
Lily Janek added four steals each.
ETBU was led by Kaia Williams with 15 points followed by Kenidi White with 11 points.
The Lady Jackets will be back in action next Saturday, Jan. 30th at 1:00 pm in Clarksville, Arkansas versus The University of the Ozarks. The game set to play on Jan. 28th at UT Dallas has been canceled.
