ABILENE, Texas- The Howard Payne university volleyball team dropped a doubleheader against conference opponent Hardin Simmons University 3-0 and 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
Game one
The Lady Jackets dropped three straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-16.
May Ross led Howard Payne in kills with seven, followed by
Amaya Marshall with five.
Riley Britain had ten assists and fifteen digs.
Alicia Becerra led Hardin Simmons with 13 kills. Chloe Calhoun-Rivera had 21 assists, and Karlie Knapek had 17 digs.
Game Two
The Lady Jackets were unable to get things going in the second game, dropping three straight sets 25-20,25-14, and 25-10)
Amaya Marshall led HPU in kills with seven, followed by
Mya Ross with five.
Riley Britain had 11 assists and 11 digs.
Chloe Pryor had 13 digs.
Taylor Salone led HSU with 19 kills. Hannah Huckabee had 23 assists and Karlie Knapek had 16 digs.Â
Howard Payne falls to 2-16 on the season and 0-16 in conference play. Hardin Simmons improves to 3-12 on the season and 3-9 in conference.Â
The Lady Jackets will finish out the season on March 31st against Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.
