BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team face-offed against Schreiner University in the team's first official match of the spring semester.

The Yellow Jackets started the match dropping the double points 8-1, 8-5, 8-4. The HPU number two doubles team of Logan Knight and Nicolas Gates had the narrow loss 8-5.

Aston Stevens in number two singles for the Jackets was the most competitive falling in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. Michael Woodard also had a competitive match in number six singles falling 6-3 and 6-4.

The Yellow Jackets will play next on Friday, Feb. 18th at 3:00 pm versus the University of the Southwest. Match will be played at HPU's Nabers Tennis Center.
