JACKSON, Mississippi - The Howard Payne University baseball team fell 4-2 in its conference series finale at Belhaven University Saturday afternoon.
HPU's
Rylee McGee led the way for the Yellow Jackets going 2-for-4 at the plate. McGee was 6-for-12 at the plate for the three-game series.
Trevor Fletcher and
Luke Brock also recorded two hits for HPU in the series finale.Â
The Jackets tallied both of their runs on single scores in the second and third innings. In the second, a Wylan Koltz double down the right line scored
Trevor Fletcher and a Fletcher hit by pitch with the bases loaded in the third brought home McGee,
Ricky Mays recorded the loss in the start allowing four runs on five hits striking out three in four innings of work.

Howard Payne is now 3-11 overall and Belhaven stands at 7-5 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Wednesday, March 9th at 2:00 pm in a home non-conference matchup against Blackburn College.
