ALPINE, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team picked up its first conference win of the season 9-0 over the Sul Ross State University Lobos Thursday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets started the match by taking all three double points, 8-3, 8-0, and 8-0.

The closest match of the day was Hunter Green's number two singles match, Green claimed the point 3-6, 6-4, 10-8. Howard Payne won all the other singles points in straight sets.

Howard Payne stands at 3-10 overall and 1-3 in American Southwest Conference action. The Jackets will play next on Sat., April 23rd at home versus McMurry University at 2:00 pm.
