SHERMAN, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team fell 62-33 at Austin College Tuesday evening in non-conference play.

Trynadee Greenwell and Catlyn Ward led the way with nine points each for the Lady Jackets. Bria Neal finished with a team-high 10 rebounds.

Howard Payne struggled shooting on the night connecting on just 22.4% of their shots. HPU was also just 4 of 14 from the free-throw line (28.6%).

Down 34-17 at the halftime break, the Lady Jackets had their best quarter of the night in the third scoring 12.

Austin College was led by Sarah Putnicki with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 2-13 overall and Austin College picked up its first win of the season standing now at 1-15 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next at home on Saturday at 1:00 pm versus conference opponent Sul Ross State University.
