BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team fell 10-1 in its conference series finale versus LeTourneau University Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.
Despite the nine-point loss, HPU would outhit LETUÂ 10-8 in the game. HPU committed three fielding errors and stranded 10 base runners leading to the outcome.

Madison Forrester,
Simonne Sanders, and
Maddison Cason recorded two hits each for Howard Payne.
Makayla Wesley had a double for the Lady Jackets.
Bree Cason recorded the loss in the start allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out four in 4.1 innings of work.
Sydney West threw 1.2 innings of middle relief allowing two runs on two hits.
Heather Wineman went the final 1.0 innings allowing no hits with one strike out.
Howard Payne is now 4-11 overall and 1-8 in American Southwest Conference action. LeTourneau stands at 13-7 overall and 5-4 in league action. The Lady Jackets will play next on March 31-April 1st in Abilene, Texas versus Hardin-Simmons University in a three game series.
