DALLAS, Texas - Today the American Southwest Conference announced the 2024 men's soccer awards and all-conference teams, and eight Howard Payne Yellow Jackets were selected highlighted by Deaven Connelly being named the Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.

Ethan Mauldin – Second Team All-Conference – Forward
Junior forward Ethan Mauldin started in 18 games for HPU, receiving 1211 minutes of action. Mauldin finished first in goals for the Yellow Jackets scoring three, while leading the team with six points. He was second in total shots with 24, with 10 on goal. This is Mauldin's second straight year of earning All-Conference honors.

Ashton Riedel – Second Team All-Conference – Defender
Junior defender Ashton Riedel started in all 19 games for HPU totaling 1345 minutes played. Riedel totaled seven shots with four on goal. This is Riedel's first year earning All-Conference honors.

Xzavier Saldana – Second Team All-Conference – Forward
Freshman forward Xzavier Saldana started in all 19 games for HPU, receiving 1152 minutes of action. Saldana finished first in shots for the Yellow Jackets shooting 25, with 6 being on goal. Saldana recorded his first career goal against McMurry in a 1-1 showdown. This is Saldana's first year earning All-Conference honors.

Phrabvir Singh – Second Team All-Conference – Defender
Graduate defender Phrabvir Singh started in 17 games for HPU totaling 1364 minutes. A key piece on defense, Singh totaled eight shots with three on goal. He had one assist on the year. This is Singh's first year earning All-Conference honors.

Deaven Connelly – Honorable Mention All-Conference/Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year – Defender
Junior defender Deaven Connelly started in 18 games for HPU totaling a team-high 1461 minutes. Connelly totaled four shots with one on goal. This is Connelly's third straight year of earning All-Conference honors.

Taylor Hefner – Honorable Mention All-Conference – Midfielder
Senior midfielder Taylor Hefner started in all 19 games for the Yellow Jackets, logging 1,451 minutes. A true captain for the midfield, Hefner tied the team-high in assists with one. He took 22 shots with 8 on goal. This is Hefner's third straight year of earning All-Conference honors.

Dane Tinkus – Honorable Mention All-Conference – Goalkeeper
Sophomore Goalkeeper Dane Tinkus started in 13 games for the Yellow Jackets logging 1,082 minutes. Tinkus recorded a team-high 183 saves. This is Tinkus' first year earning All-Conference honors.

Anthony Vasquez-Arvizo – Honorable Mention All-Conference – Midfielder
Junior midfielder Anthony Vasquez-Arvizo started in 17 games for the Yellow Jackets, logging 1,331 minutes. Vasquez-Arvizo took 13 shots with 4 on goal. This will be Vasquez-Arvizo's first year earning All-Conference honors.
