BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University athletic department today announced that Isiah Araujo has joined the staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Isiah Araujo has spent the last two years as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). There Araujo was directly responsible for implementing training programs for the tennis team and also assisted with football, volleyball, and track and field for the Miners.
Before UTEP, Araujo served as an intern at Oregon State, primarily working with the football program.
Araujo previously served as an intern at Cal State Fullerton, where he worked with all Olympic sports at the school. During his time at Cal Fullerton, Araujo was also a football coach at East Los Angeles College where he was responsible for the strength and conditioning program as well as serving as the wide receivers coach.
Araujo is a former community college (East Los Angeles College) and NCAA Division II (Western Oregon University) level student-athlete. As a wide receiver at East Los Angeles, he was a part of a conference championship and bowl game victory.
A California native, Isiah earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in strength and conditioning from Cal State Fullerton in 2022, and will finish a Masters in Leadership Studies from UTEP in May of 2024.
Araujo is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA. Araujo is also First Aid, CPR, and AED certified through the American Red Cross.
