Howard Payne Athletics Weekend Preview
The Yellow Jackets hit the road this weekend with baseball and beach volleyball in action, while several other programs prepare for upcoming returns to competition.
Baseball will travel north to Lincoln, Nebraska for a three-game series against Nebraska Wesleyan. The series begins Friday, March 27, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 28. Howard Payne looks to keep building momentum as they continue their road stretch in non-conference play.
Beach volleyball heads to Marshall, Texas for the East Texas Baptist Tournament with a full slate of matches across two days. On Friday, March 27, the Yellow Jackets will take on East Texas Baptist and Texas A&M Texarkana. Action continues Saturday, March 28, with matchups against Huntingdon and Concordia. Howard Payne continues its historic inaugural season with another opportunity to gain valuable experience on the sand.
Softball will have the weekend off before returning to action on Tuesday, March 31, at home in Brownwood. The Lady Jackets will host Austin College in a doubleheader as they look to get back into rhythm on their home field.
Men's and women's tennis will also be off this weekend but are set to open conference play at home on Friday, April 3, against East Texas Baptist University.
Men's and women's golf are idle this weekend as well and will resume competition at a later date.
