Jackets Super on Superhero Night

Super Strength, Super Speed, Super Jackets — 4–0!

Brownwood, Texas — Superhero Night at the Coliseum
"Super" could not be overused tonight during Howard Payne's Men's Basketball Superhero Night. The heroes were super, the crowd was super, and above all else — the Jackets' record is super. With a dominant 113–90 win over MUW, Howard Payne moved to 4–0 for the first time in decades, officially marking one of the hottest starts in school history.

From the opening tip, HPU played like a team wearing capes. The Jackets exploded for 60 first-half points and shot a blistering 46-of-86 from the field, including 16 made three-pointers.

The scoring balance was as heroic as the theme suggested — 58 points came from the HPU bench , with nearly every Jacket contributing a key moment. Freshman guard Will Jefferson provided a spark with multiple threes, while Braylon Crosby and Trey Jackson combined for efficient scoring bursts that kept the building energized.

Inside, Carter May and Jordan McClendon powered through the lane and helped the Jackets collect 38 total rebounds, controlling the interior on both ends. McClendon poured in 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Crosby dropped in 12, and Jackson added another 12 of his own.

Defensively, the Jackets forced 23 turnovers and converted them into 34 points, turning defense into instant offense all night.

After the game, head coach Nadir Dalleh praised both the team and the atmosphere:

"Our guys played with heart, toughness and joy. This group believes in each other, and you could feel the energy in the building tonight. Starting 4–0 is special, but what excites me most is how connected we are. If we keep playing with this kind of effort, the sky's the limit."

With the crowd cheering in capes, masks, and superhero colors, Howard Payne delivered a performance worthy of the theme — powerful, explosive, and unforgettable.

The Jackets will look to keep their historic momentum rolling as they have sights set on uncharted territory.

The Jacket return to action on Saturday, November 15th against Austin College.
