Howard Payne University Welcomes Elliott Hansing as Deputy Director of Athletics

BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne University Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Elliott Hansing as the new Deputy Director of Athletics, as he joins Yellow Jacket Athletics to help lead the department into its next era of growth and excellence.

Hansing comes to HPU with a strong background in collegiate athletics administration, marketing, and fan engagement, having served in leadership roles at Division I institutions including Eastern Illinois University and Sam Houston State University. His experience in enhancing game-day environments, growing fan engagement, and leading student staff aligns closely with HPU Athletics' commitment to providing a first-class student-athlete experience.

"I'm incredibly excited to join Howard Payne University and help lead HPU Athletics," Hansing said. "There is a clear vision of excellence under Adam Bright's leadership, and I'm honored to be a part of carrying that vision forward. I'm passionate about serving student-athletes and helping build something special here in Brownwood."

Athletic Director Adam Bright expressed enthusiasm about adding Hansing to the leadership team and the impact his experience will have on the department.

In his new role, Hansing will assist in strategic planning, departmental operations, and the continued development of a championship-level culture that emphasizes excellence, service, and the holistic growth of student-athletes.

Hansing officially begins his tenure this month and will play a key role in helping advance the mission and vision of Howard Payne University Athletics.
