GAME 2 | Concordia (TX) 15, Howard Payne 2
AUSTIN, Texas --L. Prestage went 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI for the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets in a 15-2 loss to the Concordia (TX) Tornados on Saturday.
D. Bower (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Howard Payne (0-2). W. Anderson was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two shutout innings without allowing a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets were trailing 15-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Prestage put Howard Payne on the board with a leadoff home run off J. Ramirez.
The Yellow Jackets kept the deficit at 15-1 before closing the gap further in the seventh. Howard Payne scored once on an RBI single off the bat of N. Gulamhuse, which brought the score to 15-2 in favor of the Tornados. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.

C. Serf (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Howard Payne (0-3). J. Martinez was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 14-0, the Yellow Jackets first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Howard Payne's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a two-run double off the bat of L. Prestage. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Concordia (TX) added one run to their tally on the way to a 15-5 final.
